Between how “far away” Ghana’s three Northern regions seem and the language barrier there probably wasn’t much incentive to venture into those waters. Well, we’ve got great news – MESH and OBL Studios present “Pieli: The Rise of Montana”; Ghana’s first epic adventure series in Dagbani with English subtitles.

What’s so special about this film? For one thing, the cinematography is top-notch, as are the visual effects. Stunts-wise, we can confidently say that you haven’t seen anything as well-done and believable as what Pieli offers when it comes to Ghanaian films. Think that’s all? You have another thing coming. From the synopsis, we’re sure the story, set in the 1900s, will leave you both spellbound and intrigued by the rich history and culture of of Ghana’s North. But the kicker? Synopsis: ‘Pieli’ means ‘hunting’ in Dagbani. An action packed adventure movie featuring awesome visual effects, choreography and stunts like never seen before in Ghana, “Pieli – The Rise of Montana” is an adventure movie series set in the early 1900s about a young man who is suddenly dawned with the sad reality that not only is he not of the family he has known throughout his life and has grown to love so much. He is also the only surviving child of a powerful Chinto clan that perished at the hands of immortalized merciless ancient warrior Montana who long ago pledged to annihilate the entire clan. With the resurrection of this ancient warrior, what is the fate of this young man? What enmity exists between the warrior and the Chinto clan? Are there other surprises he should expect?
